About Me!

My name is Matthew Rourke, and I'm a sports photographer and graphic designer from Albany, New York. My photography journey began during my junior year at Christian Brothers Academy when I brought my mom's old Canon Rebel T7i to a football game. What started as a simple interest quickly became a passion for capturing the action, emotion, and unforgettable moments that make sports special.

During my time at CBA, athletics played a major role in my high school experience. Whether I was involved with the basketball and track programs, supporting teams, or photographing games from the sidelines, I saw firsthand how much sports mean to athletes, coaches, families, and the entire school community. I had the opportunity to photograph both the football and basketball teams at their New York State Championship games, experiences that helped shape my passion for sports photography.

RourkeFlicks grew out of that passion. My goal is to capture athletes and teams at their best — the determination, intensity, teamwork, and emotion that define a season. I love being able to share photographs that athletes and families can look back on with pride, celebrating the hard work and dedication that go into every game.

I'm now a freshman at Marist University, majoring in Computer Science and continuing my photography journey as a member of the Marist Athletics media team. It's an exciting opportunity to photograph college athletics, develop my creative skills, and continue learning about sports media.

Beyond photography, I enjoy graphic design and exploring the intersection of technology, creativity, and sports. I've also begun developing my own Adobe Lightroom presets, sharing the editing styles I use to bring my sports photographs to life.

What began with a borrowed camera has become something I'm excited to continue building. I look forward to capturing new moments, meeting new people, and seeing where photography takes me next.

However, no matter where life takes me, I'll still be taking photos and enjoying life to the fullest with a camera in my hands. The possibilities are endless with a camera in your hand, so live your dreams to the fullest.
